Andrew Messenger - Program Leader and Tutor at the Aviation Academy - Leeds Bradford Airport

Our learners have been visiting FlyMe over the past 3 years; they always thoroughly enjoy their time at the facility. Having this practically on our doorstep means we can visit and spend a full day being immersed in the experience.

This day is not just for those who wish to be Cabin Crew, but our budding Pilots, Ground Staff, ATC and Security Agents of tomorrow too. The day enriches their learning across all levels and all of our learners testify it is a fantastic and enriching experience.

But don’t just take our word for it; see what our students have to say.

  • Loved it! Honestly fabulous (Albert L3 Aviation & Travel)
  • Really Good enjoyed it; would love to come again (Sydney L2 Cabin Crew)
  • Very educational (Aimee L2 Cabin Crew)
  • Love it, had so much fun, very real, brings our learning in the classroom to life, amazing place to come enjoyable worth with the money. What we have learned in the classroom is understandable when put in practice. (Becca L2 Cabin Crew)
  • Opening the doors going down the slide and smoke-filled cabin was the best part, loved the 737-simulator, brilliant experience. This is my second time here (Matt L2 Aviation Environment)

Sarah O'Connell - Travel & Tourism Lecturer & Course Leader - Bradford College

Having visited FLYME on a number of occasions for our students to experience their facilities which are outstanding and provide opportunities to experience real-life scenarios, in order for them to complete assessments.

We have found the staff to be accommodating to our needs and they are wonderful with engaging our students and providing a fun filled day, in addition to meeting assessment needs.

They are more than happy to suggest activities and adapt them to meet business demand.

From inquiry to completion communication has always been excellent.

FLYME will always be our first port of call when needing to complete assessments.

Julia Davies - Talent United Coordinator - Student Services - Barnsley College

As the Talent United & Enterprise Coordinator at Barnsley College a large part of my role is organising Industry Talks and enrichment experiences for every student in college.  As part of our Travel & Tourism Industry week it was difficult to find a visit that the students hadn’t done before, that was relevant to what they are studying and was in budget.  Then we discovered Flyme….WOW what an absolute find this was and it is literally on our door step.

We organised a visit to Flyme for our Level 3 Year 2 Travel & Tourism Students where they got to experience every part of working in the aviation Industry.  The students walked in and were immediately blown away by the set up which felt just like we had arrived at Manchester airport!  Every detail had been carefully planned and the staff were exceptional, making everyone welcome and operating as airport staff would, checking them in and showing them to the departure lounge.  The whole day was one that everyone enjoyed, learning more about careers, how the equipment worked and getting to experience scenarios they would never get the chance to unless they were working on a plane.

The students got to experience emergency situations on board a real plane and had to navigate their way through these problems as they would in real life, even getting to experience the emergency slide which I hope they never have to do it real life!  The highlight for many was the flight simulation where they were able to experience flying and landing a plane with their classmates all on board.

The students were excited about the visit but the day itself exceeded our expectations and theirs.  The staff were unbelievable, very professional and nothing was too much trouble, very knowledgeable with all our questions getting answered.  This really was one of the best experiences other than flying a real plane for our learners and it gave them an insight into what they are expected to be part of and the environments in which they will work.  The whole experience was one of positivity giving our students the confidence to reach for the Sky and pursue this as a career.

This is something we will include every year for these students as it has received such high praise from staff and students.  We are hoping to involve Flyme in other Industry weeks and talks and have booked another visit for March.  I would 100% recommend this to anyone who has an interest in aviation/Travel…in fact anyone, such a fabulous experience.
