Are you aged between 11 and 17 and dream of becoming an airline pilot? Why not join our FlyMe Academy and become one of our cadets?
Our sessions run fortnightly at our flight-training centre in Barnsley and run for 20 sessions over a period of 40 weeks. The sessions take place at our interactive airport between Barnsley and Sheffield just off M1 Junction 36.
Instruction is carried out by our qualified pilots who have themselves gone through a rigorous training process and can advise on the different paths that can be taken to reach your goal of becoming an airline pilot. With a maximum group size of 10 we ensure everyone receives high quality instruction.
There are a number of different modules that will be covered over the 40 weeks with the end result being a virtual type rating in our Boeing 737-800 simulator.
To promote professionalism in the industry a uniform policy is in place for students, which comprises of black trousers or skirt, black shoes, white shirt with epaulets.
An initial one-off membership fee of £79.00 is to be paid in advance of the course starting. Each student will receive the following:
- Single stripe shoulder epaulets;
- Identity card and lanyard;
- 10% discount off any additional one to one sessions with the pilots booked outside the academy sessions.
Each fortnightly two-hour session priced at £29.00 and payable on the day.
The main aim and objective of the course is to have fun whilst also gaining an insight into the different ways to become an airline pilot. You will be exposed to hands on practical simulation training and receive instruction in the theoretical subjects required to become a qualified pilot. We want the students to see this as an opportunity to learn, make friends and talk about their interest in aviation.
At the end of the course each student will be presented with a certificate of completion.
